To find some inspiration for my family i went onto the website Pinterest. I created a mood board and took pictures from tags such as 'family' and 'friends' that i really liked. This sparked some ideas of what I could do for my album.
Some of the ideas I came up with were:
Taking photographs when my family/friends aren't looking. This sparks interest in me as it allows true emotion to be shown through the photo- it sends a real message because everything in the photo is real. This type of photography also allows me to capture not just the happy moments but the worst moments too- like Larry Sultans family album, i've learnt that showing more than the happy emotions can mean that viewers take something more from the series. This type of photography is sentimental, not only can viewers enjoy this but those involved can too- the photos taken due to this idea are snapshots of someones life.
Another idea i came up with was taking a photo of something of theres. Staying on the sentimental wave, i thought about photography my families favourite pair of shoes. Not only will this shows a little insight into who they are it also leaves viewers with a mystery- they want to know more- Why are they a favourite pair?
