Street Photography: Walker Evans.

For Walker Evans, he shot his most famous work through The Great Depression and candid photographs of the public on the subway. For Evans, the thought of taking a picture of something so real (like street photography) is what drew him into doing so. Many of his candid photos show how times where like for everyday people, whether that cruel or not. Walker was also able to show some of the wronging in society with those who have next to nothing. Another famous picture of his, is a blind woman. This picture really stands out as "It was strong and real it seemed to me. And a little bit shocking; brutal." - Walker Evans.

Walker Evans also showed us how street photography is so instinctual. The way you approach the street and your camera, defines the pictures you're going to take. Evans mostly worked upon his instincts instead of going out with a purpose for the photographs he was going to take.

With Walker Evans photos he want to show "Detachment, lack of sentimentality, originality, a lot of things that sound rather empty." The visual impact of these types of photos against any other is that you feel more when you look at these types of photos. They become picture in your head you're always reminded of. Evans believes that visual impact can be very vague. You cannot fully understand the impact of a picture until people see it.
