Experimenting with Light Trails.

The outcomes I have found after experimenting with light trails was that for the most part, when taking a photo like this, trail and error is the best way. The light gives more depth towards a photo and even makes the focal subject standout even more. 

Taking a light trail/night photography shot is most efficient with a tripod- this means that the photo wont look blurry because the camera hasn't  moved while the shot is being taken. This means that you can change the amount of exposure time depending on what will look best. For a standard light trails- and the ones I experimented with, the exposure lasted for 15 seconds, giving us enough time to create the light trails and get the focal subject in shot too. 


When creating your composition, remember the simple rules that help a photo look ascetically pleasing- Rule of thirds, leading lines and the use of different angles. Take a look at some of the light trails my group and I have created:
