While we seem to be coming out of covid-19 lockdown with stores beginning to open up again, I am only starting the summer holidays waiting for second year to start. It feels weird to think I've still go another 2 months before I'm back to lectures and tutorials; so therefore I've been using my time finding online courses to complete to boost my skill set!

Google Garage: With a range of online courses from Data Tech to Career Devlopment, Google Garage allows you to learn at your own pace with training designed to help you thrive. I decided to focus on Digital Marketing. Some of the courses, such as the Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, also give you a certification at the end of it which allows you to display it on your LinkedIn profile, and include it on your CV! I highly recommend using your time to at least have a look at what Google Garage has to offer!

LinkedIn Learning: Speaking of LinkedIn, the platform also offers online courses! I'm lucky enough that my university allows me to have LinkedIn Learning for free. LinkedIn offers you a range of courses on anything and everything you might want to start learning- I have used LinkedIn learning to focus on developing my personal and education weaknesses (such as confidence and critical thinking.) The course lengths do vary which is perfect if you don't have a lot of time to spare, so you can focus on some of the shorter courses, and just like with Google Garage (as well as most online courses) you can add the skills you've learnt onto your CV and Online profiles.

Google Analytics Academy: Jumping back over to Google now with their online Analytics courses. The website offers both Beginners and Advanced courses when it comes to understanding and using analytics. These courses have become really eye-opening for me, helping me understand exactly what I may want to go into in my career. These certificates do expire after a few years which shows the importance of keeping your analytics mind fresh. I suggest starting off with the Beginners course, regardless of whether you have an okay understanding of analytics to re-fresh your memory and then move onto advanced course once the first course in completed.

HubSpot Academy: While I have only found out about HubSpot Academy, I cannot wait to have a look at the courses they offer; learning with HubSpot will definitely benefit your career and help you advance your skills- the company prides itself on keeping up with current trends i. digital, customer and service industries. One course I'm excited to look more into is the Social Media Certification Course made up of 9 Lessons, helping you build loyalty and attract business. While I can't 100% recommend this Academy at the moment, it's one I think everyone should have a look at!

And there you have it, a handful of online courses you can browse at and start learning! I've found I'm more confident in what i've learnt over in my first year of university and have managed to learn some new and important skills along the way.
